Love to all!!!

Hey Everyone!!
Life is so crazy and hectic sometimes!! Sorry I haven't gotten an email out in a while! I don't know if I've told ya'll this yet, but I've been transferred to the Spokane Valley in Washington! I'm serving in the Evergreen Ward and they are AMAZING! My first 6 months were spent with wards of people that were my own age so it was a lot of fun to help those that were struggling with similar things that I was struggling with just 6 months earlier...so that was fun...but it is INCREDIBLE to be in a ward where I have that family bond with people again! I now have so many women that act like my mother it's almost overwhelming....but i love it so much! Because i served in a college ward for the last 6 months it's like i was at college and came home for break!....maybe ill be going to another college soon?? IDK we will see! :) I'll go where the Lord wants me to go.
I love this work! I love getting to share my testimony of the gospel every single day and I love knowing that  I'm planting seeds! I've discovered something since being out on my mission... This probably doesn't mean anything to anyone else, but I'm going to share it anyways. A lot of the times when people share the gospel and someone doesn't accept it, they give up saying, "I tried" or "I did what I was supposed to do, but nothing came of it". I am here to tell you that THAT is the most selfish thing that you can do! Because you opened your mouth and talked to that person, they will have that with them always....and sooner or later they will accept the gospel, but you might not see it happen, what matters is that you opened your mouth! I call these people planters! That's who I am... and I had a hard time with it at first, but then I kicked myself in the butt, along with some chastening from the Lord and now I am seeing miracles happening... not to the people I talk with but miracles in my own life! I'm doing what I can to help the Lord move his work farther!
I heard a quote this week that said, "Hastening doesn't mean moving/running faster, it means we're more prepared." The more prepared we are and the stronger our conversion to the gospel of Jesus Christ will naturally lead us to sharing the gospel with everyone around us!! We are all investigators...some are just farther along on that path than others! I love this gospel! I love learning and growing! I love knowing that I have a Savior! I know the way that we strengthen ourselves is by praying, reading our scriptures, and going to church! I love this gospel! And although it's one of the hardest things I've ever done, I love my mission!
Love you all! Keep the Faith!
Don't fear man more than God!
Love,
S. Richardson

January 13, 2014 E-Mail!!!!

Hey There Again!!!

Here is her letter from last week!!!!

Love to all!!!

We didn't get a letter today, usually they don't write on a holiday, so....  Hopefully tomorrow!!

Happy Reading!!!

Hey Everyone!
It happened! I am actually getting transferred out of Moscow! The one thing I've been dreading since the moment I stepped into Moscow has now come true! I will be moving up into Spokane to serve at least the next 6 weeks there!
I am TERRIFIED! I've grown to know Moscow and love it so much! There's nothing like a college town to get a 23 year old girl super stoked about missionary work! :D haha but alas, the Lord needs me in Spokane! I'm so excited for this opportunity to experience serving in a family ward as I've been in a Young Single Adult Stake for the last 6 months of my mission... so all of it. haha But It's going to be such a growing and learning experience for me! I hope I can do some good while serving in Spokane! Because I don't know my new address send any letters/packages to the mission office address:
Sister Kayla Richardson
Washington Spokane Mission
820 S. Pines Rd #101
Spokane Valley, WA 99206
until I can get my other address to everyone.

We had the opportunity of meeting Elder Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on Saturday! We knew he was coming to the mission... and we thought he was bringing iPads...but he wasn't... but he gave this AMAZING talk on repentance and the Atonement! It was incredible! There were so many moments that I felt like he was talking directly to me! Obviously it was the Spirit telling me what the Lord needed me to hear...but it was so exciting to have so many of those experiences one right after the other, over and over again bearing witness that this man who's hand I shook was an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ! I learned so much from him about the Atonement and how I need to continue applying it in my life!
This next transfer it going to be incredible! Along with getting a new companion, living and working in a new area, and being terrified; the ENTIRE mission is going to be reading the Book of Mormon in 6 weeks! Everyone who is willing is open to join us! The entire Book of Mormon (Title page-end) can be read in 6 weeks by reading 13 pages/day! Can you do it? Take the challenge and let me know how it goes! :) Shoot me an email with what you're learning during the experience!
I hope all is well and that everyone is able to feel their Saviors love daily...if you can't repent and try again :)
Love you all!

January 6, 2013!!

Hey There Everyone!!!

Here is Kayla's e-mail from a couple of weeks ago!!!  Sorry I'm behind again!!  Life has gotten a bit crazy, and I'm trying to learn how to balance all the good stuff of life!!!

Happy Reading!!!

Love to all!!

Hey Everyone!
This week has probably been one of the longest weeks of my life!
New Years was good, but we weren't allowed to proselyte on New Years Eve or New Years Day unless we had a set appointment! We couldn't even drop in on our members unless we had an appointment with them, so those couple days were really slow, and to top it off, school doesn't start for another week, so there still are no students in town! So we have done a lot of member work, and a lot of knocking on doors! One day my companion and I were a little disheartened because we had this INCREDIBLE day planned! We were ready to see all of these miracles happen and by dinner time... NOTHING. So on our way home we decided to go knock on this referrals door who wasn't home before. I said a quick prayer pleading for SOMETHING to come out of today, just to help me feel like i wasn't a complete failure, and the referral wasn't home, but his roommate was! We talked to him and we were informed that not only was the referral reading the Book of Mormon, but their other roommate was as well! WHAT!?! We asked him if he would be willing to read it and he said yes! Miracles do happen! If you're doing everything in your power to do what God tells you to do, you're bound to see miracles happen!
Another miracle: Sunday we weren't having any luck either, we go and try to knock on another referrals door and we see the other set of sisters that live with us coming down the hill near where we had dropped them off earlier, they were extremely excited to inform us that they had a church tour for us later that night. We went. The Spirit was SO strong. This young man is now preparing to be baptized on Feb 22! Pray for him! His name is Jacob!
I know this work is God's work! I love bringing people closer to Christ! I love being an instrument in the hands of the Lord! I'm so grateful for this opportunity to serve my Heavenly Father! I draw closer to Him every day, as well as my brother and Savior Jesus Christ! I love this gospel! The heavens are opened! God Loves YOU!
Love,
Sister Richardson

December 30, 2013 E-Mail!!!

Hey, hey, hey Everyone!!!!  Happy New Year!!!!

Here is Kayla's latest letter!!

ENJOY!!!!

Hey Everyone!!
Funny story of the week!
So we have been teaching this Less Active member since I came out on my mission like 5 months ago... He's hilarious! Super nice guy... all that jazz. We have been trying to get his records moved into the ward, but were having a really hard time finding out where they were. We asked him several times if he knew what ward he came from until he gave us the name of the bishop where he was from! So our bishop called this bishop... and found out that our less active... isn't a member!!!! Hahahahahaha and we were wondering this entire time why he wasn't making much progress!! haha Oh geez!!
Makes for a funny story, but it was also a tender mercy! We've been struggling to find someone to teach as an investigator who actually wants to come to church and learn more about the gospel! And here it is! We are going to sit down with him today and get things straightened out!
I can't wait to see how things turn out! THIS... is why im out here! I love learning how to love people!!
Not a lot of time today!! Sorry!!
Love,
Sister Richardson
